HTC devices are selling like hot cakes everywhere in the world. Besides the Touch Diamond we have recently seen the Dream, the Touch Pro, the Touch 3G and the Touch HD. They are all great devices which will make a name for themselves. Each of them is unique in some way. The most spectacular seems to be the Touch HD and of course the Dream is the first Android device ever to be created. So it's no wonder carriers in USA are lining up to get them.

Are we going to see Alltel get bought out by Verizon soon or not? I'd say that for now Alltel are doing pretty good and they hardly look like preparing for any mergers. They are upgrading their EVDO network support and they are upgrading their My Circle plans. These don't seem to be actions done by a company on the verge of being both by a rival.

Alltel will soon offer faster data network speeds to customers in 18 of their cellular networks markets. Alltel is a CDMA wireless carrier that has entered into an agreement to be bought out by Verizon Wireless, another Rev A EVDO CDMA network provider, by the end of 2008.

Verizon Wireless announced today their plans to purchase CDMA competitor Alltell Wireless for a reported sum of $28.1 Billion dollars, plus the debt acquired through the merger. The move will create the largest U.S. based cellular provider, while bringing new calling areas to both Verizon and Alltel customers

People have started talking about 4G even before we have successfully dealt with 3G altogether. There are so many areas of the world where 3G isn't available or where 3G smartphones are much more expensive than you'd imagine. Nonetheless for those used to 3G like they're used to breathing air, 4G connectivity seems a normal, logical step. Alltel is thinking about integrating LTE for their future 4G network. This is a three to five years move and for now we can only but talk about such an adventure.
