Verizon seems to be on the right track with its 4G LTE network launch. The LTE network is being tested in three metro areas and those lucky enough to be able to test it have reported peak wireless speeds of 60Mbps. The commercial launch has been confirmed and by 2010 Verizon will officially launch it.

US online retailer BestBuy entertained buyers of Treo Pro (CDMA version for Sprint) who were willing to not just wait but to shell out $699. The shopping page for the Sprint-branded Treo Pro was taken down only a few days later. 
John Garcia, Head of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) at Sprint Nextel, is leaving the company, and the circumstances surrounding his departure have not been made public. Keith Cowan, president of strategy and corporate development, will serve as interim head for the unit, which controls 70% of Sprint's customer base, until the position is permanently filled.
