If you have MS Smartphone with Wi-Fi, you can enjoy this new application that gives you the chance to use VoIP over Wi-Fi. It is another new and exciting development in the world of consumer VoIP, but for once it isn't Skype that has taken the lead.

Like Skype, Barablu lets users make PC-to-PC calls, but they take it a step further by also offering mobile to mobile calls. Using a compatible GSM phone with Wi-Fi enabled on it, people can access the VoIP service over a wireless LAN. Calls to other wireless users are then free, but only if they are also Barablu members. Currently, both the Nokia 9500 and i-mate SP5 and SP5m phones are compatible. You just need to download a dialer to your mobile and get registered. You can also make free calls to PCs or anything else you could do with a regular account from your mobile. You can make calls to non-Barablu users as well using the Barablu world account or receive calls from non-users, though there is obviously a fee for both services.

Jan 20 Canon combines SLR Camera with Cell Phone

In a stunning technological breakthrough, Canon has managed to combine their digital SLR cameras with advanced cell phone technology. From now on, you will always have a phone handy, no matter where you are. Phone Camera"I got the idea out on a photo safari in my local park when I needed a friend's advice," Alana Harford, Chief of Engineering at Canon, explained. "But when I wanted to call him, I realized that I had - once again - forgotten my cell phone at home. At first I thought about duct taping the phone to my camera - which I've always got on me. Then it occurred to me: 'Hey, why not combine the two?'"

The first cell phone capable camera from Canon will be the Digital Rebel XCP. Mechanically, it is similar to Canon's popular entry-level digital SLR, the Digital Rebel XT. However, the controls on the back have been changed to make room for microphone, speaker and dial pad. Also, the added phone capability allows the photographer to send pictures to other cameras - or phones. Using the latest 3rd generation mobile technology, the XCP can transfer its 8 MegaPixel images in both JPG and lossless RAW format.
The product was not universally lauded by certain professional photographers. Some nature photographers complained the phone has rung and scared off wildlife, and setting the phone to vibrate can blur pictures.
