So yes, we've just found out that Windows Phone 7 is not going to fulfill all our mobile dreams but we can still hope that change is on the way. But the good news is that Redmond still has more than six months to fix everything and offer us an even better OS.

We already know the names of 33 companies which are already making applications for the new platform and we're definitely interested to see them in action. RIM has been busy lately working hard on offering you new features from your future BlackBerry phones. The company is working on improving the OS which is definitely most welcomed.

BlackBerry OS 5.0 will apparently offer you OpenGL ES support which means that 3D content and games in particular are going to be available soon. BlackBerry Theme Studio is also now available which means themes creation will be a lot easier and faster. The BlackBerry Payment Service has also been introduced so you can expect it to arrive in mid 2010. With the new payment service you'll be able to pay for apps and subscriptions straight from the phone and it's a good alternative to PayPal.

Some Apple developers are probably cashing out on Apple's innovative App Store and Apple is ready to keep them busy creating applications for the next iPhone platform. If you are one of them or plan to switch from other platforms to iPhone then you should know that beta 3 of iPhone OS 3.0 is available for developers. Will the Marketplace, or any other mobile app store be as successful as Apple's currently is? We will see more about that in the near future but for now Apple is nearing 1 billion downloads while other stores have just started out.

AT&T has announced that TuneWiki, a social media player app, won the top prize in the company's Fast-Pitch Platinum Awards contest, while Boopsie, a mobile search app, won the grand prize in the enterprise app development contest.

AT&T said it is the first major telco to have a developer relations program and now has more than 20,000 developers registered in its program which encourages them to make apps for handsets running on various platforms such as BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Java, Palm OS and Symbian.
