Google just released their navigation product called Google Maps Navigation. It is an internet-connected GPS navigation system with voice guidance and is part of Google Maps for mobile. Currently Google Maps Navigatio is available for phones with Android 2.0 like Motorola Droid. Google Maps Navigation uses your phone's internet connection to give you the latest maps and business data. But that's not all that's different about Google's approach to GPS navigation. Google has just released Android 1.6 what so far was known under its code name Donut. While Android 1.6 is fully compatible to Android 1.5 (Cupcake), it brings some new features and extensions for customers and developers. Android 1.6 also enhances the device support. It expands the support for screen densities and resolutions which is important to get devices beside the so far typical Android HVGA screen resolution; Android 1.6 now also supports QVGA and WVGA. Furthermore, Android 1.6 now includes support for CDMA in the telephony stack. which brings it a step closer to U.S. networks.
