Sep 01 Sony Ericsson Launches PlayNow Music Store

Sony Ericsson together with Sony BMG, Warner Bros and EMI has launched the PlayNow online music store. Well Sony Ericsson was certainly inspired by iTunes or Nokia’s service ‘Comes with Music’. For now the store has no less than one million DRM free tracks and it’s expected to have five million tracks ready to be downloaded by the end of next year.

The company had reported impressive gains in the first quarter of 2008. The loss of profits comes at a time when the number of handsets sold by the company has actually increased.
