It has been a while since we've last seen an iPhone OS update. Apple is probably working on the development of the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 which could arrive this summer once the new next-gen iPhone gets released.

In the mean time Cupertino has released a brand new firmware update, version 3.1.3 which is now available for download. The new iPhone OS version will fit with all existing iPhones and iPod touches and will basically offer you some bug fixes and improvements. In case you're the happy owner of a Palm Pixi then you should know there's a new firmware version for you. webOS 1.3.2 is apparently now available to Pixi owners so in case you haven't gotten it then you should look for it already.

What's surprising is that the Pre didn't receive the firmware update despite being the better webOS phone of the two. There's no news if the Pre will also get it soon but considering that firmware 1.3.5 is expected in a few weeks we might never see the Pre go to version 1.3.2.
