At the recent HD2 launch event HTC's CEO Peter Chou indicated a good point of view when comparing HD2 and iPhone. It is the screen resolution. The iPhone sports a relatively low screen resolution of 480 pixels down and 320 across, but the latest Windows Mobile device, like the HD2, has 800 pixels down and 480 across. In short this means that more data can fit on the screen at a time, translating to less scrolling in email, a higher resolution view of photos, better web experience, etc.

If you live in Canada and would love a new Android phone then we have an alternative for you. The HTC Hero, one of the best Android phones available to date, will be available in a Telus store near you soon. Whats even better about it is that it comes in GSM flavor which means it will work no matter where you take it with you.
The GSM HTC Hero will be very similar in specs to the CDMA version. You can expect a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi b/g and HSDPA support. Theres no telling if Telus Hero will come with Android 1.5 or Android 2.0 from the beginning. But HTC did confirm the fact that the Hero will receive the Android 2.0 update so Telus users should expect to see a similar treatment. We have no release dates and pricing details at this point but well be back with more once Telus makes the Hero official.
