SmartPhone Technologies Sues Apple, Samsung, RIM, LG, Motorola, Sanyo and AT&T

Just last week we were talking about the Apple vs HTC lawsuit and now we hear about a new important lawsuit in the mobile world. This time around it's SmartPhone Technologies the company that has been filing suits against seven important names in the mobile business: Apple, Samsung, RIM, LG, Motorola, Sanyo and AT&T.

SmartPhone Technology is alleging that these seven companies have been infringing a "broad range of patents" which includes email syncing, Bluetooth connectivity and other technologies.

LG Panther to be the First Windows Phone 7 Handset?

The first official Windows Phone 7 handset has been revealed during an Engadget show and it's a slider made by LG. While it's yet unknown if the device in question will ever be released we now know it is called the LG Panther.

Neither LG nor Microsoft would say if this prototype will indeed be created. We also happen to know that LG is going to launch a Windows Mobile phone this fall but we thought it was going to be called the LG Apollo.

LG Arena Max Known as LG Maxx LU9400 in Korea

The LG Arena Max has been spotted in February around MWC 2010 first and it looks it is now ready to dazzle Korean consumers. The phone will be launched in South Korea soon under the name LG Maxx LU9400 by LG Telecom but SK Telecom and KT are also going to get it soon.

What this means for us is that the LG Maxx LU9400 might be coming to other markets too. The phone is the first smartphone heading to Korea with a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm processor on board but the device has other impressive features too.

LG GD880 Mini Is Now Officially Official

A few days ahead of the MWC 2010, LG has decided to announce a new touchscreen devices. The LG Mini also known as the GD880 is the phone in question and from the looks of it, we're likely to be impressed by its capabilities.

The LG GD880 will feature a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 480 x 854 resolution, WiFi, AGPS 5-megapixel camera with face-detection, HSDPA 7.2Mbps support and an aluminum casing. LG says that the Mini is the slimmest and smallest full-touchscreen available to date which is something some people will definitely love.

LG Apollo and HTC Obsession to Come with Windows Mobile 7 on Board?

Hang on to your shorts, folks, as this is just a rumor, but one that we really happen to enjoy. It looks that we have two names of upcoming, Windows Mobile 7-running, brand new smartphones one from HTC and one from LG.

The HTC Obsession is going to be coming with a 3.7-inch AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, HSDPA connectivity and a 1GHz Qualcomm processor. The smartphone is coming in October but we definitely need someone to officially confirm it.

Just a few days ago we were wondering whether or not Windows Mobile 7 is coming at MWC 2010 and today we find out from unofficial sources that a Windows Mobile 7 phone is going to be launched this September by LG.

The rumor has been recently found on Twitter and although it might just be a fake, we still have reason to believe it could be true. Why you ask? Because the rumor also specified that LG is going to launch an Android 2. phone in April which is probably more believable at this point.

One of the big challenges this year for manufacturers will be to create WiMAX- and LTE-ready devices. People are getting ready to get their feet wet when it comes to 4G technologies so we can expect more WiMAX and LTE devices to appear by the end of 2010.

One of those 4G-ready devices will be a HTC WiMAX phone which is supposed to be sold by Sprint in the USA this year. Nothing is official just yet but according to a leaked spreadsheet Sprint is preparing for WiMAX phones as we speak.
