Google just unveiled that it collects Google Maps Mobile data to improve its traffic layer. This mean that you send anonymous bits of data back to Google describing how fast you're moving when you use Google Maps Mobile on GPS enabled phone with My Location turned on. Nokia's mapping service, Maps on Ovi, was initially released with support for Windows-based browsers. The service which runs on Nokia's web service and syncs to Maps 3.0 running on Symbian S60 3rd Edition FP1 and FP1 phones is now available also for Safari on the Mac.
