New LG Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphone Gets Leaked

New LG Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphone Gets Leaked

We've already talked about the first Windows Phone 7 Series handsets and so far we know that Samsung, Asus and LG all have at least one working prototype running Microsoft latest OS.

But today we have for you a totally new LG Windows Phone 7 handset and this one is a beauty. In fact it might just be the best LG phone created so far if only it were real. The device has been conveniently "leaked" only to be removed from Neowin later on. That's certainly more than strange, wouldn't you agree?

Google Nexus One Coming To Sprint

Google Nexus One Coming To Sprint

Here's some news for everyone, the Google Nexus One is making its way to Sprint later in the year, not only that but Verizon is poised to be making a similar announcement so everyone has always been perving at Google sex-machine, this is time to pick one up on the cheap along with a 2 or 3yr contract of course.

No here's the thing, you'll still be required to buy the phone from Google themselves, the Nexus One will not be sold in stores just strictly online, I guess we now know why after 74 days Google only sold 135,000 of these bad boys, or it could be because the phone was never available for the likes of Sprint and Verizon which are larger networks compared to T-Mobile.

Google Sold 135,000 Nexus Ones In 1st 74 Days

Google Sold 135,000 Nexus Ones In 1st 74 Days

Not really surprising here, Google only sold 135,000 Nexus Ones in the first 74 days since the handset went on sale, but don't jump to conclusions now and talk about how much the handset has flopped, far from it. The research done by Mobile search firm Flurry, has shown how pathetic the Google Nexus One sales were in its first 74 days compared to the iPhone and Motorola DROID. The DROID surprisingly came out on top with 1.5 million sales, Apple iPhone played second with 1 million and Google's little baby at the meager number of 135,000.

Now, lets see why the Google Nexus One appears to be a complete flop, first off, the DROID was pushed with a $100 million marketing campaign by Verizon, the Apple iPhone had the Apple branding behind it and at the time, it was the hottest thing on the market, the one phone that changed the whole industry to what it is today. Google's little toy? Really good phone but it didn't get the marketing push it deserves, the phone is only available online at Google's Store and launched out on T-Mobile which is one of the smaller networks in the U.S. Then we have to take into consideration one more thing, how many consumers out there would actually buy a phone without testing it out? One cannot do that with the Nexus One unless you're lucky.

10% of Microsoft Employees Rumored to be iPhone Owners

10% of Microsoft Employees Rumored to be iPhone Owners

A strange report comes in all the way from The Wall Street Journal. It would seem that the iPhone has rapidly become a very popular phone among Microsoft employees. In fact no less than 10,000 Microsoft employees using iPhone smartphones have been accessing the Microsoft email system which amounts to roughly 10% of Redmond's active "soldiers."

While company policy can't officially make its employees ditch iPhones in favor of Windows Mobile handsets the report goes to say that some employees go to great lengths to disguise their iPhones. What Microsoft did last year in order to convince more people to switch back to Windows Mobile smartphones was to change its corporate cellphone policy to reimburse service fees for employees using Windows Mobile.

Android Becomes More Popular While Windows Mobile Loses More Market Share

Android Becomes More Popular While Windows Mobile Loses More Market Share

Windows Phone 7 is a very hot OS but that will not save Microsoft anytime soon. The new OS is expected to arrive by the end of the year and until then Redmond is going to lose even more marketshare to Google, Apple and RIM.

A recent study analyzing the U.S. mobile market from October 2009 to January 2010 clearly shows that Android sales have risen by 4.3% compared to October 2009 stats while Windows Mobile sales dropped as Microsoft lost 4.0% market share. RIM and Apple are reading the charts and they also on the rise with 43.0% and 25.1% market share.

iPhone OS 4.0 To Support Multitasking?

iPhone OS 4.0 To Support Multitasking?

Here is some good news for the vast amount of Apple Fanboys lurking in the darkness. Apparently iPhone OS 4.0 will feature support for multitasking, for the folks who have no idea what this means, it means iPhone owners in the future will be able to have multiple applications running at the same time, but knowing Apple, they will likely limit how many apps users would be able to run in the background.

Since the iPhone first came on the scene, users have been clamoring about for Apple to add support for multitasking, now it seems Apple has finally answered to the desperate plea from die hard Apple fans. In a sense, the iPhone is capable of multitasking, the only way that is possible is if users go the route of jail-breaking the device, something which Apple does not appreciate you doing, must suck to be an iPhone owner eh? Many alternatives so what you all waiting on? The impending death of Steve Jobs?

EU Commission Approves T-Mobile UK and Orange UK Merger

EU Commission Approves T-Mobile UK and Orange UK Merger

It's not the first time we discuss the merger between two UK important carriers, T-Mobile UK and Orange UK, but this time around we can confirm that the merger will finally be able to take place. The EU Commission has cleared it and Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom can close the deal.

In fact it's expected that the merger will take place by Spring so if you happen to be one of T-Mobile UK's customers you'd better start getting used to the idea that you're going to refer to Orange UK as your default carrier in the very near future.

Android Powered Cardboard Robot

Android Powered Cardboard Robot Android is like a woman, it has mean multitasking skills and one of my favorite things I love to see Android do is, control robots. It's only fitting for a OS called Android to be used to control robots and anything that has to do with robotics or Artificial Intelligence. Today we are going to look at a robot made from cardboard, this little thing was created Tim Health and Ryan Hickman who ate both web engineers.

At the center of the cardboard skeleton is the HTC G1, the first Android powered smartphone to be released 2yrs ago. By setting up the G1 to the cardboard skeleton along with a few wires here and there, Tim and Ryan were able to control the robot via their laptop, all this is possible because they took advantage of the G1s compass which they use for guidance, pretty god damn smart if you ask me. Now you maybe thinking all this cost them a fortune, it actually didn't, apart from the phone itself, the grand total for everything else is a measly $30, thats it.

Apple iPad 1st Commercial

Apple iPad 1st Commercial

I'm not a big fan of the iPad but for reasons unknown, I always keep tabs on whatever is going on for it, maybe subconsciously I want one but the no Flash Player support thing by Apple pisses me off. Ok, so the 82nd Academy Awards/Oscars took place tonight, and Apple were lucky enough to set free the 1st iPad advert in front of the eyes of millions, and it wasn't a bad job, if knew nothing about the iPad I'd probably get one after seeing this ad.

The advert was just 30secs long, showed off a few features of the iPad like my personal favorite, the ebook reader. The animations when skipping a page looks really neat and the reading display looks sharp, I already see many folks dumping their current reader for this, especially the ones who went out and bought a black & white ebook reader. Anyway, the biggest thing to be noticed in this advert is the April 3rd release of the Apple iPad, Apple stores around the U.S will be sucked into Apple fanboy hysteria and we'll be reporting on the carnage when it happens.
