Motorola Droid X2 Leaked On Video

Motorola Droid X2 Leaked On Video

The Motorola Atrix 4G might be a flop, but Motorola are not resting until they come out with a hit phone for the year, this is where the DROID X2 comes to play.

Motorola's Droid X2 is the spiritual successor to the Motorola Droid X on Verizon, it is very identical in design with only the specs being the main difference. Unlike the Droid, the Droid X2 features a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, 8MP camera, and a 4.3 inch qHD display. It's really nothing we haven't seen before, but impressive nonetheless, we hope Motorola and Verizon finds success with this one.

Motorola XOOM Heading To Sprint

Motorola XOOM Heading To Sprint

The Motorola XOOM is not doing quite well in market so far, the device is struggling to compete with the iPad 2 so it would be interesting to see if Sprint can help its prospects.

The XOOM will be hitting Sprint in two forms, a version with WiMAX 4G and the other with support for only Wi-Fi. Currently, no word has been forthcoming regarding the price for the Motorola XOOM on Sprint, but we expect the price to me very similar to that of the version on other networks in the U.S. right now.

Motorola XOOM Sales Are Quite Poor According To Estimates

Motorola XOOM Sales Are Quite Poor According To Estimates

Things are not looking so good for Motorola and the XOOM Tablet thus far, sales are not what we expected it to be and it doesn't seem like anything will change for this device.

According to the Business Insider report, a research from Deutsche Bank estimated that the Motorola XOOM could only manage a meager 100,000 units sale since launch, compare that to the Apple iPad 2 which was sold out on its first weekend out the gates. The Motorola XOOM is not a bad device, it just got released too close to the iPad 2 release date, that all but killed it.

Motorola Atrix 4G And HTC Inspire 4G Getting HSUPA Update

Motorola Atrix 4G And HTC Inspire 4G Getting HSUPA Update

Lucky owners of the Motorola Atrix 4G and the HTC Inspire 4G, is set for an upgrade next month, something that should silence a few fanboys, for a time at least.

The update will bring HSUPA to both phones, this is probably because owners of both phones were complaining about the lack of real 4G speeds. AT&T responded and alerted owners that the phones will eventually get a HSUPA update sooner rather than later. Now the update is soon upon you all, will the complaints continue? Sure, for we expect AT&T to cap data speeds to protect their network.

Wi-Fi Only Motorola XOOM Launching March 27 For $599

Wi-Fi Only Motorola XOOM Launching March 27 For $599

Motorola XOOM is the first Android 3.0 tablet to hit the market, but while it is a powerful device, the price is just too much, and this will be one of the main reasons many would rather pick up an iPad 2

March 27, 2011, was the launch date for the Motorola XOOM, the reviews that came in after were pretty good, but the major set back was the price. Now Motoorla plans to launch a cheaper version, this version is Wi-Fi only, and will cost $200 less than the original which cost a whopping $799. The tablet costing $200 less is still more expensive than the Wi-Fi only iPad 2 which is some where on the lines of $499.

Boot Ubuntu From Your Motorola XOOM Android Tablet

Boot Ubuntu From Your Motorola XOOM Android Tablet

And so the hacking continues, the Motorola XOOM Android tablet can now boot into Ubuntu via a Virtual Machine, it looks pretty nice but still slow and full of bugs at the moment.

It is always good when you can tinker with your tech devices, so owners of the Motorola XOOM who dig the Linux OS, Ubuntu, will be pleased to see their favorite OS working on the XOOM. Nothing is finalized right now as Ubuntu is not optimized for touch screens and the navigation is slow as hell, mainly so when browsing the internet, check out the video.

Motorola XOOM Overclocked To 1.5GHz

Motorola XOOM Overclocked To 1.5GHz

We knew someone would have done it, and it didn't take too long for it to happen, the Motorola XOOM has been officially overclocked. The XOOM is a true powerhouse in the mobile industry, and to have it go up an extra 500MHz is a huge deal, it all but destroyed the benchmarking applications.

XDA forum member, Coolbho3000, was the man behind the awesomeness, he overclocked the Motorola XOOM from 1GHz to 1.5GHz, thus achieving some sweet and super dual core speeds with the device. You can do it yourself, but doing so could void your warranty and possibly brick your XOOM if done incorrectly, so take the following information at your own risk, don't blame us for nothing.

Webtop To Feature On Future High End Motorola Smartphones

Webtop To Feature On Future High End Motorola Smartphones

The Motorola Atrix 4G is one awesome phone, but the best feature would have to be Webtop, Motorola's laptop docking solution which allows users to connect their Motorola device to a Motorola laptop for browsing the web and other things.

So important is Webtop to Motorola's strategy, they will now add Webtop to every high-end smartphone in the future, but will it ever catch on? Time will tell. Webtop looks good, but it will never replace your laptop, the OS is not that good, it is slow and just not good for everyday use. Everything regarding Webtop needs more work, if they can fix the problems, then maybe users won't just see it as a good feature, but still a damn time vampire.

Motorola XOOM Ripped Apart By Ifixit

Motorola XOOM Ripped Apart By Ifixit

The poor Motorola XOOM, taken apart by the guys over at ifixit, this sexy little beast was torn apart limb from limb, screws from sockets, and even after all that, it still looks sexy, in a geeky way. According to ifixit, there are 52 screws in all, and to tear it down, it took them several hours, as easy as might look.

The ifixit team rated the Motorola XOOM an 8 out of 10 for ease of repair, but that doesn't mean you should go about dropping the device at will, parts are still expensive and not easy to come by in some instances. The team went on the state that, "individual components are separately attached to the motherboard, allowing each component to be replaced on an individual basis." Cool stuff, if you ask us.

Motorola Atrix 4G Rooted

Motorola Atrix 4G Rooted

One great thing about Android, is its openness, but unfortunately, many of the Android devices are so closed, even the Apple iPhone would seem a more open handset when you compare. The Motorola Atrix 4G is one of those Android phones, so we are happy to know that the device has already been rooted, long before release.

The person who did the rooting, came from the very reliable XDA-Developers forums, but how long will it take for him and others to see the fruit of his hard work? The boot-loader is still pretty much locked up tight, so that means, it will take quite a while before custom firmwares are running rampant on the Atrix 4G. Personally, I do not care for such things, but for the folks who do, good luck with it.
