Sprint Employee Referral Offer or SERO has just been canceled by Sprint and replaced by the new Everything Plus Plan. This move, no necessarily a good one was rumored a few weeks ago and it seems to be a natural, for Sprint, upgrade in data plans.

A while ago Sprint announced they are going to put a cap on their previous unlimited data plans. That was rather disappointing as Sprint decided to establish a 5GB limit while in Sprint’s network and just 300 MB when roaming. Now it is rumored they are going to increase the cost of existing data plans.

Are we going to see Alltel get bought out by Verizon soon or not? I’d say that for now Alltel are doing pretty good and they hardly look like preparing for any mergers. They are upgrading their EVDO network support and they are upgrading their My Circle plans. These don’t seem to be actions done by a company on the verge of being both by a rival.

Sprint has decided to reduce their unlimited data plans to only 5GB a month and an extra 300MB while roaming in other networks. Why, oh but why? Instead of keeping data plans unlimited which would make them unique for that service they chose to handle it like other carriers.
