A Carleton University phD student has developed a way to greatly reduce the amount of power it takes to run smartphones like Blackberry and the Apple iPhone. The prototype removes of all the wires used to connect the electronic circuits with the antenna and connects the antenna with the circuits through a wireless connection between a micro-antenna embedded within the circuits on the chip.
