Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink has been hot on everyone lips since we first heard about it last year, now some good news is finally out of the wood works and we can hold our heads high to the sky as the release date draws close. Project Pink phones are looking more like Micorsoft's own version of the Sidekick seeing as they are targeted at snuffy teenagers and look all lady like, and the fact Micorsoft bought Danger, the guys who came up with the first Sidekick back in the day.

Since Project Pink phones are messaging and teenager centric handsets, you most won't find Windows Phone Series 7 OS on them, I'm thinking a whole new, or Windows Mobile 6.5+ which seems more fitting in my eyes and would keep the price down at a bare minimum. Now let's get down to what really matters here, the first set of Project Pink handsets are set for an April 20th launch, and guess which Network is chosen to do the bidding? Big bad boys in red Verizon Wireless.

Guardian Project to Make Secure Android Smartphones?

Guardian Project to Make Secure Android Smartphones?

The Guardian Project is an initiative that wants to develop secure smartphones and Android has been chosen to power them. Such a Guardian Android smartphone would offer you an anonymous browser, encrypted email, secure voice calls and data syncs.

That means of course that such a phone would bind Android OS with some custom firmware that would make all of the above possible. Once the security measures have been implemented you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a regular Android-running smartphone and the Guardian Android smartphone. The best part is that you wouldn't require any special smartphone to install such a custom Guardian Android firmware build. Any Android handset will do just fine.

SK Telecom Unveils Prototype Smart SIM Card

SK Telecom Unveils Prototype Smart SIM Card

SK Telecom is apparently working a product that will revolutionize the SIM cards as we know it. A final product hasn't been officially announced yet but the smart SIM card here has everything you need. It has a processor, Android OS and enough storage to hold your favorite apps and help you port them from one device to another, netbooks included.

This new SIM card is definitely interesting but the concept itself could potentially harm you. Sure you could change phones a lot easier as you'd be able to immediately port your whole mobile universe to the next gadget. But what happens when your phone gets lost or stolen?

Microsoft to Launch PB10ZU and PB20ZU Project Pink Phones at CTIA?

I know the MWC is upon us but it looks like we have uncovered some secret details regarding Microsoft's future Project Pink plans. Remember the Turtle and Pure phones which we showed you a while back ago? Well they have apparently reappeared and this time they are mentioned by an official FCC filling. The PB10ZU and PB20ZU are expected to be the Turtle and the Pure although we don't have official details at this particular time.

In fact it looks like we won't have that many details next week either since the filing won't reveal any of its details until March 29. That must only mean that the CTIA show in Vegas is going to be the place where Ballmer and the gang could be talking about these Pink Phones.
