You know what I hate about the mobile phone industry? Whenever a good phone goes on the sale, it doesn't take too long for something better to get announced, so the folks who bought into the first good phone gets royally ripped off when something better gets released a month or two later, worse if it is from the same company. This is how i feel with the Nexus One and HTC Desire, though I don't own a Nexus One, I still find this kind of business practices by manufactures pretty messed up.

Anyway, ranting aside, let's get down to what really matters here before I go on and on into a barbarous rage. The HTC Desire is the next kick ass handset to come from HTC after the Google Nexus One, the Desire is basically a Nexus One reloaded with the Sense UI and 720p HD video recording, the Desire is not even on sale at the moment, yet the ROM is available, customized and ready to take up refuge on your Nexus One.

Unfortunately for Google, HTC and T-Mobile the problems with the Nexus One's 3G connectivity haven't been completely solved by the last OTA update. In fact the word on the street is that a new ROM is about to be released and this one is expected to further improve the radio capabilities of the smartphone.

It's too early to call the Nexus One a flop for now but we were expecting the device to put up a better fight. Google managed to sell only about 80,000 units in the first month and the future doesn't seem to be brighter, at least for now.

We're definitely not ready for Android 2.1 in our lives, are we? And even if we were, Google is certainly not ready to launch it. But Android 2.1 is out there and those smart guys over at xda-developers even have a ROM for you to play with.

Once installed you will be able to enjoy both Android 2.1 and HTC Sense on your Android phone. You just have to deal with a few minor bugs like Google sync and WiFi support if you do decide to keep the new OS Version.

A few days ago we've told you how Apple has decided to add a new bootrom to its iPhone 3GS in order to prevent hackers from jailbreaking the phone. Even the famous iPhone Dev Team has been reported to acknowledge that the new iPhones won't be jailbroken anytime soon.

If you want to get yourself and iPhone 3GS and jailbreak it then you should do it already. Rumors are coming in and it looks like Apple has big plans for the upcoming iPhone 3GS units and jailbreaking might be out of the question.

It looks like Apple is really annoyed with the iPhone Dev Team's capability of always jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhones. Therefore the company has decided to take action and change the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. Thew new bootrom is supposed to be resistant to the 24kpwn exploit used by the Dev Team to jailbreak the device.

Google's actions have been met with resentment from Cyanogen fans but they should not worry. It looks like Cyanogen is not going down as some of you might have initially believed.
