Those of you who use AT&T 8525 will be glad to hear that AT&T have finally released a Windows Mobile 6 Professional upgrade for the 8525. It has been made available from the HTC America site. This new ROM brings all the usual Windows Mobile 6 goodies, but the release notes point out that if you are using messaging software from Good, think twice before you jump, as this is NOT supported on the new build.
Some highlights about the upgrade
* This ROM is available from November 1, 2007 to February 1, 2008. After this date, the ROM will be removed from the website and will no longer be available for distribution.
* This ROM update is intended for the AT&T 8525 only and users should not load or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/damage.
* GOOD MOBILE MESSAGING USERS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
At this time, Good Mobile Messaging is not supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. It is recommended that Good Mobile Messaging users not upgrade their device's firmware at this time but download the WM6 update and save it for when Good Mobile Messaging is supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. Please note that the latest Windows Mobile 6 firmware is a permanent upgrade once it has been loaded on your AT&T 8525. There is no way to roll back the AT&T 8525 to Windows Mobile 5 once the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade has been completed.
* HTC strongly suggests that users create a back up copy of this ROM and keep it in a secure place as all new and refurbished 8525 devices (including those received via Warranty Exchange) will come loaded with Windows Mobile 5 rather than Windows Mobile 6.

And along with the WM6 upgrade for HTC X7500 Advantage, HTC releases another promised Windows Mobile 6 ROM upgrade for the HTC S620 aka HTC Excalibur.
As it looks like from the upgrade HTC has started to roll-out Yahoo! Go, as announced earlier this year. This is information get from a teaser on HTC's front-page which mentions that Yahoo! Go is part of the new S620 Windows Mobile 6 ROM. As always, you have to be a registered user of HTC's e-Club and you have to have added your serial number to your e-Club account to get access to the download.
The only disappointment of this upgrade is the lack of Office Mobile and using ClearVue instead. But even without Office Mobile, Windows Mobile 6 is worth a (free) upgrade. Please keep in mind that this ROM upgrade is for HTC branded devices only. If you have another branded device (like from Orange, T-Mobile Europe (the U.S. version is available for a long time already) or O2) please ask your operator for an upgrade.

HTC has just released the previously promised HTC X7500 Advantage Windows Mobile 6 Professional ROM upgrade. It is available for download at HTC's website "Phone Software Updates" section. Note this download requires that you have created a HTC e-Club account and assigned the serial number of your HTC Advantage to your e-Club account, just like any other Windows Mobile ROM upgrades delivered by HTC.
Please keep in mind that this ROM upgrade is for HTC branded devices only and if you have another branded device (like the T-Mobile Ameo) please ask your operator for the upgrade. Also note, that this ROM upgrade isn't designed for the U.S. version of the Advantage, the HTC X7501.

O2 Germany has just released Windows Mobile 6 ROM upgrade for the O2 Xda Orbit. The Xda Orbit is in-fact one quite nteresting Windows Mobile handheld with its small size, built-in GPS Receiver and its special joystick and wheel input controls. Now all of you who use this phone can just download, install and enjoy the new operating system.
Remember that ActiveSync must be installed on the PC used for the update. In order to accomplish the update, you need an active connection between PC and Xda over ActiveSync. Therefore the Xda must be connected with the PC during the entire update process switched on and by provided USB cable.
The Windows Mobile 6 Professional ROM is 52MB and can be downloaded via this link.
O2 Xda Orbit Specifications.

This ROM upgrade can be download from official website of Qtek or from the xda-developers forum. We hope you will like using push email function, but you need to wait more for stereo audio over Bluetooth.

It looks like that HTC has some problems with hardware construction of their phones because
they have not released the A2DP (stereo audio over Bluetooth support) in this update. O2 Xda Atom, for example, does not have such problem and support A2DP fully
already.
This i-mate JASJAR ROM upgrade can be download here. We wish you
happy updating!

Please read the following before you begin upgrading.
* Before upgrading your MDA Vario, the battery must be fully charged.
* In order to save your personal data, you can either use a storage card or use Active Sync which will save your data from your device to your PC (note that Active Sync will only save data from Outlook such as contacts, tasks, appointments, files etc).
* All email settings will be lost and therefore they will need to be reconfigured - please make a note of these prior to running the upgrade.
* All personalised data including software applications, T-Mobile downloads, web favourites, any POP3 emails, SMS, MMS, and other settings would be erased during the upgrade process.
* The upgrade process takes about 20-30 minutes and must be conducted from the PC via a USB cable (please ensure you have downloaded the file to the PC first not directly to the MDA Vario device), please do not run the upgrade over the air or via Bluetooth. During this time please do not do anything else with your PC, such as start another application like Microsoftฎ Word or Excel because your MDA Vario may well crash.
* During the upgrade process do not allow the screen saver or power save mode to kick in, as this may also cause problems.
* Once the upgrade has been completed you will need to reload any applications - applications provided on the separate CD when the device was bought, but also separate applications that you have bought and loaded onto the device.
