T-Mobile HTC G2 Slated For Gingerbread Update

T-Mobile HTC G2 Slated For Gingerbread Update

Many phones are getting the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update this year, even the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is fortunate enough.

The next Android phone currently sitting on the update train is the T-Mobile HTC G2, the gingerbread update should run really smooth here, as the version of Android on the handset lacks Sense UI, which means stock Android all the way. Because of stock Android, that 512MB RAM won't be a problem, everything should be blazing like a rocket shooting off into space, and owners will be happy about that.

Verizon Top Sprint In 4G Speed Test

Verizon Top Sprint In 4G Speed Test

Things are not going well for Sprint these days, AT&T buying up T-Mobile which will further push them back, and the heat emulating from Verizon and Apple iPhone partnership.

If that is not enough, now Sprint will have to contend with being the slowest 4G network in America, after 1000 speed tests were done on Verizon LTE network. All 1,000 tests were done in New York City, the devices used was the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt, and the Sprint HTC EVO 4G, both powerful handsets and the best on offer from both networks. If you look at the charts, you will realize how significantly faster Verizon 4G LTE network is, but one could argue that such is the case because not many subscribers are using Verizon 4G compared to Sprint.

Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update Available For T-Mobile Subscribers

Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update Available For T-Mobile Subscribers

After months and weeks of waiting, owners of the HTC HD7 Windows Phone 7 handset on T-Mobile, will finally get the NoDo update.

NoDo, which many believes to stand for No Donut, a slight jab at Google's Android, has been in the works for a while. Promises were made, promises were broken, but finally after waiting for what seems like ages, NoDo can now be downloaded to the HTC HD7. Many on T-Mobile should be seeing the option to get the update, others will have to wait a few hours more as the update continues to be pushed out to subscribers.

It's Official, AT&T Acquired T-Mobile USA

It's Official, AT&T Acquired T-Mobile USA

Big news coming out of the Telecom Industry, AT&T agreed to buy T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom, it seems Sprint got outbid.

The cost of this deal is a massive $39 billion is cash and stocks, but before AT&T can eat up T-Mobile and sit on 130 million subscribers in the next 2yrs, this deal must first be accepted by the regulators. So huge is this deal, we expect Sprint and Verizon to come out gunning for the buyout to be blocked, because if does go through, the little guys will feel the blunt of it more than anyone else, so maybe Sprint might be the only one to complain at the end of the day.

T-Mobile LG G2x Tegra Dual Core Is Kinda Sexy (video)

T-Mobile LG G2x Tegra Dual Core Is Kinda Sexy (video)

T-Mobile is saddling up to be apart of AT&T in the coming months, but that is not stopping them from kicking off CTIA with some cool looking smartphones, one in particular is the T-Mobile G2x, manufactured by LG.

The phone is kicking with a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and Android 2.2 Froyo as the OS of choice, sadly, they didn't optioned to go with Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead. The phone is pretty fast, but something quite noticeable, even with all the dual core goodness inside, these Android phones are still not faster and smoother than a standard Windows Phone 7 handset with an old 1GHz Snapdragon processor, makes you wonder, doesn't it?

T-Mobile LG G-Slate With 3D Video Recording (video)

T-Mobile LG G-Slate With 3D Video Recording (video)

Another T-Mobile device coming out from CTIA is the T-Mobile LG G-Slate, this is the device LG were boosting up as the iPad 2 Killer due to its many features. We didn't think it could take down the iPad 2, and seeing it in action for the first time, we won't be changing our minds.

The T-Mobile G-Slate is sight to behold, the gorgeous 8.9-inch capacitive display is very attractive to the eyes, and with a dual core processor at the core, loading webpages is a breeze. Compared to the Motorola XOOM, the G-Slate has a lot more going on, it has a dual 5MP camera at the back for taking 3D videos and photos, unfortunately, the 3D content you take with the G-Slate, cannot be viewed in 3D on the device, you will thus need a 3D TV at home, so pretty pointless feature if you ask us.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Is No Looker But Functional

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Is No Looker But Functional

We've been talking about the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G for some time now, pictures were floating around the web of the newest member to the Sidekick family, and while the pictures looked good, on video, the phone is kind of ugly.

Android is the OS at the heart of this thing, the version is Android 2.2 (Froyo) with a custom user interface that is more ugly than Katy Perry without make up. By the way, have you seen that picture of Katy Perry without makeup? Yuk. Anyway, back to the Sidekick 4G, which is a basic Android phone with a slideout keyboard, nothing to get excited over, we don't like it, and you probably won't either unless messaging is your thing.

Sprint On The Verge To Acquire T-Mobile?

Sprint On The Verge To Acquire T-Mobile?

With T-Mobile USA on the decline due to losing over 300,000 subscribers last quarter, it is just inevitable for another company to buy them out, and right now, it appears that company is Sprint.

According to rumors which popped up first on Bloomberg, Sprint and Deutsche Telekom are already holding meeting on whether or not it would be a good idea to acquire T-mobile USA. We say Sprint should go for it, acquiring T-Mobile USA would boost their subscriber numbers to 84 million, still 10 million shy off Verizon and they would still be stuck in 3rd place, but having more numbers would definitely attract more subscribers in the long run.

Microsoft And Danger Finally Killed The Sidekick

Microsoft And Danger Finally Killed The Sidekick

Years ago, the Sidekick line of phones were rocking, these phones were the only true alternative to a Blackberry if you are a messaging freak, but the services were only available on the T-Mobile network, so while many could get the phones, they would never experience the services.

Well, those were the days, this is now, and now is when the Sidekick is slowly meeting its end, for the services that made the devices tick, will be pulled on May 31st. Since Microsoft bought Danger, the company behind the Sidekick and its services, we believe it was inevitable that the service would go down, since it would best to have Danger working on Windows Phone than any other off project.
