Windows Phone 7 is the talk of the town and it's good to see Microsoft get back in the mobile game with an OS that's already admired. Sure everyone is talking about it without actually using it but Windows Phone 7 is still a major breakthrough for Redmond.

One of the questions that keep popping around the web is whether or not Windows Mobile 6 phones will ever be upgraded to Windows Phone 7. Various rumors and reports said that some phones will get the upgrade but it looks like Microsoft is clearly stepping in to destroy our upgrade dreams.

The HTC HD2 is the hottest Windows Mobile phone available out there at this point. Hopefully the phone has what it takes to be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 7 although it might be a while until the new OS will be upon us.

Not all current phones will have the necessary hardware features to run Microsoft's latest OS and maybe that's why the U.S. version of the HD2 will get some more than welcomed upgrades.

Just a few days ago we told you how Rogers was thinking to offer its Canadians subscribers a free upgrade of the HTC Dream to the Magic. Well now everything is official and it looks like the upgrade will be available free of charge for anyone that chooses to do so.

What's the catch you ask? Well you still have to sign, or better said, re-sign the agreement. From January 12 to January 26 you have all the time in the world to decide upon the matter.

The app will work in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, UK and the USA.
