The Palm Centro has been an ultra popular GSM based device for the last several months with AT&T and T-Mobile customers clambering to get the new Unlocked GSM version of the device, while Sprint customers have enjoyed the Sprint Centro version since the end of 2007.

Now it appears Verizon Wireless will also carry a CDMA Version of the Palm Centro with a new look thanks to the more appealing blue color they have chosen to feature.

Verizon Wireless announced today their plans to purchase CDMA competitor Alltell Wireless for a reported sum of $28.1 Billion dollars, plus the debt acquired through the merger. The move will create the largest U.S. based cellular provider, while bringing new calling areas to both Verizon and Alltel customers

Verizon Wireless has announced a new piece of downloadable software for standard commercial cell phones known as RemoSync which allows users of consumer non-pda phones to receive push email via a Microsoft Exchange Server. The product will open up new avenues for email while still allowing for traditional POP3 and WirelessSync email to be sent to a users cell phone.

There's even more good news. The synced device will also be able to access the outlook calendar and contacts information, making it a truly independent application for users who may not want to carry around a clunky PDA Device.

Despite going through a more complicated period right now, with sales dropping for Q1 2008, compared to 2007 and with rumors about being acquired by Indian company Videocom, Motorola are still top of their class at selling cell phones. Hopefully better model are to emerge soon from their development labs.
