Sony Ericsson Kurara AKA Vivaz coming soon

Details of Sony Ericsson's upcoming Symbian smartphone known as the Kurara were released a few months ago. Now we have news that Sony Ericsson is soon going to officially announce the Kurara and its real name is ‘Vivaz'. The Kurara AKA Vivaz will come with some nice features including support for High Definition video recording. It is expected to be available in selected markets in this quarter.

The Vivaz will have a similar Symbian S60 theme to the Sony Ericsson Satio and it will have a similar design to the upcoming Xperia X10 Android Smartphone. It will cost around $700 and will be available in four colors including Silver Moon, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue and Venus Ruby.

I know what you're thinking, people! How is this possible? Did the iPhone get a secondary camera all of a sudden? I'm afraid not! But that fring application which you've grown to love over the years has delivered again. fring has decided to bring one-way video calls over Internet to the iPhone.

And it looks like Apple is willing to allow such nonsense. All you need is an iPhone, or iPod touch for that matter, an active connection to the Internet and iPhone OS 3.0 or later installed. You'll be talking with your friends in no time. But you'll have to choose between seeing the other person or letting them see you. Two-way video calls aren't possible just yet.

Peter Chou shows HTC HD2 advantages over iPhone At the recent HD2 launch event HTC's CEO Peter Chou indicated a good point of view when comparing HD2 and iPhone. It is the screen resolution. The iPhone sports a relatively low screen resolution of 480 pixels down and 320 across, but the latest Windows Mobile device, like the HD2, has 800 pixels down and 480 across. In short this means that more data can fit on the screen at a time, translating to less scrolling in email, a higher resolution view of photos, better web experience, etc.
