HTC HD2 Video Unboxing

HTC HD2 Video Unboxing

The HTC HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional smartphone which is set to release on March 24th, is already on sale via Walmart in Vancouver Canada, it looks to be a really sleek device, compared to the iPhone 3GS, the display is bigger and better, can't say the same about the Operating System unfortunately. Anyway, some guy called up the Walmart Store in Vancouver and was told he could come down and buy the HTC HD2 which he did, so excited he was that he posted an unboxing video of the phone on Youtube.

As you can tell from the video below, the phone is real, it comes in this black box with HTC HD2 written on the front along with a picture of the phone itself. The phone can be used on any network but if you want access to 3G coverage, you will only be restricted to T-Mobile and not many people would like that very much. One other thing you should evaluate before you buy the HTC HD2, it is not upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 OS, to me, that's a bummer and the biggest reason to stay away from this handset if you have plans to jump on the Windows Phone 7 train come later in the year.

New LG Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphone Gets Leaked

New LG Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphone Gets Leaked

We've already talked about the first Windows Phone 7 Series handsets and so far we know that Samsung, Asus and LG all have at least one working prototype running Microsoft latest OS.

But today we have for you a totally new LG Windows Phone 7 handset and this one is a beauty. In fact it might just be the best LG phone created so far if only it were real. The device has been conveniently "leaked" only to be removed from Neowin later on. That's certainly more than strange, wouldn't you agree?

10% of Microsoft Employees Rumored to be iPhone Owners

10% of Microsoft Employees Rumored to be iPhone Owners

A strange report comes in all the way from The Wall Street Journal. It would seem that the iPhone has rapidly become a very popular phone among Microsoft employees. In fact no less than 10,000 Microsoft employees using iPhone smartphones have been accessing the Microsoft email system which amounts to roughly 10% of Redmond's active "soldiers."

While company policy can't officially make its employees ditch iPhones in favor of Windows Mobile handsets the report goes to say that some employees go to great lengths to disguise their iPhones. What Microsoft did last year in order to convince more people to switch back to Windows Mobile smartphones was to change its corporate cellphone policy to reimburse service fees for employees using Windows Mobile.

Android Becomes More Popular While Windows Mobile Loses More Market Share

Android Becomes More Popular While Windows Mobile Loses More Market Share

Windows Phone 7 is a very hot OS but that will not save Microsoft anytime soon. The new OS is expected to arrive by the end of the year and until then Redmond is going to lose even more marketshare to Google, Apple and RIM.

A recent study analyzing the U.S. mobile market from October 2009 to January 2010 clearly shows that Android sales have risen by 4.3% compared to October 2009 stats while Windows Mobile sales dropped as Microsoft lost 4.0% market share. RIM and Apple are reading the charts and they also on the rise with 43.0% and 25.1% market share.

Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink has been hot on everyone lips since we first heard about it last year, now some good news is finally out of the wood works and we can hold our heads high to the sky as the release date draws close. Project Pink phones are looking more like Micorsoft's own version of the Sidekick seeing as they are targeted at snuffy teenagers and look all lady like, and the fact Micorsoft bought Danger, the guys who came up with the first Sidekick back in the day.

Since Project Pink phones are messaging and teenager centric handsets, you most won't find Windows Phone Series 7 OS on them, I'm thinking a whole new, or Windows Mobile 6.5+ which seems more fitting in my eyes and would keep the price down at a bare minimum. Now let's get down to what really matters here, the first set of Project Pink handsets are set for an April 20th launch, and guess which Network is chosen to do the bidding? Big bad boys in red Verizon Wireless.

HTC HD2 Arriving to T-Mobile on March 24?

HTC HD2 Arriving to T-Mobile on March 24?

We've already seen T-Mobile's pricing details for the HTC HD2 and we know it's coming this month to U.S. customers eager to finally play with the device. But it's today that we hear HTC's flagship Windows Mobile 6.5 phone is getting ready to arrive on March 24.

The HTC HD2 is probably the last Windows Mobile 6.5 phone ready to impress us and you're not going to regret buying it. Although Microsoft might not support the update to Windows Phone 7, the HTC HD2 definitely deserves such an upgrade. Or at least we can surely bet that HTC is going to make an HD2 successor that will run Microsoft's latest OS.

Microsoft Barcode Reader For Android

Microsoft Barcode Reader For Android

Ever heard of Tag? It's an application which allow users to use their phones as a barcode reader, the application can be found for Windows Mobile, Symbian, BlackBerry handsets and for the iPhone, but now it is out for Android and if you didn't know, this little thing is coming straight out from the Microsoft labs. With all the rumblings going on with Microsoft and Google, I'd never expect them to release an app for the Android platform, but then again, I never thought they would do it for the iPhone and look how that turned out.

The application is now available from the Android Market free of charge, just download, fire it up and snap a picture of one those Micro OR Codes and let the application do the rest. But hey, if you want a more decent Barcode Scanner for your Android handset, take my advice and check out Shopsavvy, it is probably the best Barcode Scanner of the lot, it's feature rich and does the job allot faster than Tag, all this is just preference on my part.

Windows Mobile 6 Not to be Upgraded to Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone 7 is the talk of the town and it's good to see Microsoft get back in the mobile game with an OS that's already admired. Sure everyone is talking about it without actually using it but Windows Phone 7 is still a major breakthrough for Redmond.

One of the questions that keep popping around the web is whether or not Windows Mobile 6 phones will ever be upgraded to Windows Phone 7. Various rumors and reports said that some phones will get the upgrade but it looks like Microsoft is clearly stepping in to destroy our upgrade dreams.
