Those of you who use AT&T 8525 will be glad to hear that AT&T have finally released a Windows Mobile 6 Professional upgrade for the 8525. It has been made available from the HTC America site. This new ROM brings all the usual Windows Mobile 6 goodies, but the release notes point out that if you are using messaging software from Good, think twice before you jump, as this is NOT supported on the new build.
Some highlights about the upgrade
* This ROM is available from November 1, 2007 to February 1, 2008. After this date, the ROM will be removed from the website and will no longer be available for distribution.
* This ROM update is intended for the AT&T 8525 only and users should not load or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/damage.
* GOOD MOBILE MESSAGING USERS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
At this time, Good Mobile Messaging is not supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. It is recommended that Good Mobile Messaging users not upgrade their device's firmware at this time but download the WM6 update and save it for when Good Mobile Messaging is supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. Please note that the latest Windows Mobile 6 firmware is a permanent upgrade once it has been loaded on your AT&T 8525. There is no way to roll back the AT&T 8525 to Windows Mobile 5 once the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade has been completed.
* HTC strongly suggests that users create a back up copy of this ROM and keep it in a secure place as all new and refurbished 8525 devices (including those received via Warranty Exchange) will come loaded with Windows Mobile 5 rather than Windows Mobile 6.

June 5th, the day HTC promised to make Major announcement
, it is fact and they officialy unveiled HTC Touch. This happened moments ago in London, England HTC, and the Touch is not only a new device that represents a step forward in the way users interact with a Windows Mobile device, it is powered by the new TouchFLO technology (a touch screen technology that allows easier finger-based navigation).
Here is the full press release from HTC:
HTC Corp., the worlds leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile based smart devices, today announced the global launch of the HTC Touch, a deceptively small and stylish mobile phone that ushers in an innovative new concept in intuitive touch screen navigation. Orange is the first pan-European operator to launch the HTC Touch. The device brings a new level of simplicity to the powerful and function-rich device experience that todays mobile customers demand.
Building on its rich ten-year history of mobile phone innovations, the HTC Touch represents extensive research and development and the conviction that fingertip control will enable more efficient, natural and intuitive touch screen navigation. The groundbreaking HTC Touch offers a new and unique way of controlling touch screen-based devices by recognising and responding to the sweep of a finger across the screen. It is intelligent enough to distinguish between finger and stylus input and then respond accordingly.
With the HTC Touch, access to your most commonly used content, contacts and features is only a simple finger flick away, said Peter Chou, CEO and President of HTC. Mobile phone makers have done a great job of cramming ever-more exciting features into ever-smaller phones. But the way in which one accesses these increasingly sophisticated features has not kept pace. That ends today with the HTC Touch.
Smart, stylish and versatile, the HTC Touch brings together a wide variety of communication, entertainment and professional capabilities that enable mobile consumers to balance work and play. The new HTC-designed homescreen provides one-touch access to emails, text messages, calendar appointments and contacts, as well as current weather conditions and forecasts for hundreds of cities around the world.
The HTC Touch is the first device to feature TouchFLO, the new underlying touch screen technology developed by HTC. Consumers simply sweep their finger up the display to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three screens: Contacts, Media and Applications. The interface can be spun by swiping a finger right or left across the display, providing efficient access to the features consumers use most. TouchFLO also enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.
Leveraging the broad functionality of Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the HTC Touch includes Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile and the capabilities to run thousands of third-party applications. Users can surf the web with Internet Explorer, send and receive emails, chat and upload files to the internet.
The HTC Touch also features a 2 mega-pixel camera, a large 2.8-inch colour LCD screen and comes with a 1GB microSD card, giving users the versatility to store, upload and share multimedia content with ease.
Availability
The announcement marks the first time that HTC has introduced an HTC product globally, and comes almost exactly a year after the company launched its first own-branded products in June 2006. The HTC Touch will also be the first HTC-branded product to be sold in Asia. The HTC Touch will be available to customers across Europe and Asia this month, beginning today in the United Kingdom.
The HTC Touch will be initially available to Orange customers in the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands.
Yves Maitre, VP Devices, Orange, says We are delighted to be first to launch this innovative new smartphone, which will open the door to widespread use of touch screen devices. Orange has the widest portfolio of Microsoft smartphones and was the first operator to launch a Windows 6.0 device. This latest addition cements Oranges position as the leading operator in the smartphone market. Orange and HTC have a heritage of innovating with new types of smartphone and the HTC Touch is a great example of this.
T-Mobile will launch a customised version of the device which will be named the MDA Touch across key European markets. The innovative and strong multi-media feature set of the MDA Touch will be a powerful fit to T-Mobiles webnwalk proposition.
We are proud to announce that at the same time we are launching the MDA Touch. T-Mobile is continuing its successful cooperation and development of innovative products with HTC as partner, says Michael Hagspihl, Executive Vice President Terminal Management, T-Mobile International. T-Mobile already set standards in the past by providing its customers with innovative PDAs like the MDA Vario II and Ameo.

HTC launched their latest mass affordable touchscreen phone with GPS on 11 February at Mobile World Congress. It combines a lightweight design, large screen, satellite navigation software and strong battery life, but lacks WiFi. With these specifications the P3470 sets a new standard in affordable smartphone GPS-based devices.
HTC P3470 has built-in TomTom Navigator 6, which is one of the best sat-nav solution for your PDA or mobile phone. The intuitive interface, crystal clear instructions and easy call handling make it the ideal navigation partner for the P3470. The touch interface and large 2.8in screen ensure the AGPS-enabled sat-nav is easy to use, and the HTC P3470 is truly mobile thanks to the long battery life. The HTC P3470 also includes a 1GB Micro SD card for mapping and other data storage.
"The HTC P3470 integrates GPS-location into an innovative and high-powered phone that brings location-based experiences to customers looking for power and affordability," said Florian Seiche, Vice President, HTC Europe. "We are very pleased to announce this addition to the product portfolio, continuing our commitment to provide an option for every user."
The HTC P3470 will be available to customers across Europe later this month and the first operator partner to take the HTC version of the device will be Orange which will launch the P3470 in the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands. Estimated retail price is around 449 Euros.

As it looks like HTC are in hurry again and can't stop launching new Windows Mobile based handhelds. After the previous rumours of New HTC P6500 Sirius and HTC S420 Erato devices and the official launch of HTC S710, HTC X7500 Advantage, HTC P3350 and HTC P3400, now the HTC Kaiser (HTC P4550) and
HTC Kaiser
As it looks like the HTC Kaiser (HTC P4550) (to the right)will be equipped with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the whole with compact dimensions of 58 X 110 X 18 mm for a weight of 160 grams. HTC P4550 would lay on Samsung SC32442 400 MHz processor, 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM memory.
The HTC Kaiser integrates a 2.8 inch touch screen, a sliding keyboard QWERTY, a SD/IO MicroSD memory slot and a industry standards like Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g. It is triband GSM (900, 1800, 1900 MHz), triband UMTS (800, 850, 1900 MHz), EDGE and HSDPA capable. HTC Kaiser has also 2.8 Megapixel camera with auto focus and a integrated GPS receiver with SiRFStar III.
The HTC Kaiser would be awaited to be available in the current of June 2007 for a still unknown price.
HTC Elf
The other new Windows Mobile device by HTC is called HTC Elf (HTC P3450) (to the left) is is quite cool for its dimensions of 58 X 108 X 14 mm and weight of 110 grams. But don't be fooled by its sleek form factor, it is equipped with a Windows Mobile 6 Professional, and integrates Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor running at 201 MHz, 128 MB ROM memory, 64 MB of RAM.
The HTC Elf only possesses a Bluetooth 2.0, not WiFi which is one of the must haves according to me these days. It also features USB/MMC/SD-IO, 1,9 Megapixel camera and finally a FM Tuner (it's a little funny cause you don't have WiFi but you can listen to radio ROFL). HTC Elf is Quadband GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) and UMTS 850 MHz, and also suports EDGE.
The HTC Elf (HTC P3450) would be envisaged to be launched in June 2007.
