AT&T Working on HSPA+ Deployment in Various Locations

AT&T Working on HSPA+ Deployment in Various Locations

It looks like AT&T is looking forward to offer better transfer speeds to its customers. On its way to LTE, AT&T will first deploy HSPA+ which should offer its clients a more than welcomed speed bump before 4G technology hits the U.S. wireless world.

AT&T is the second carrier in the USA after Verizon Wireless and one of its biggest problems has been its 3G network and the congestions that followed the iPhone shopping spree. AT&T is still the official and exclusive iPhone carrier in the USA and it has definitely cashed in on Apple's unique handset. But it's 3G network, although faster than other's had to suffer especially in crowded metropolitan areas with lots of iPhone users around.

Verizon Wireless LTE Smartphone Coming in Mid 2011

Verizon Wireless LTE Smartphone Coming in Mid 2011

While Sprint is going to launch its 4G-enabled smartphone later this year, and I am referring to the HTC Supersonic Android phone, Verizon will only be able to counter this 4G offer with an LTE handset in 2011. Anthony Melone, Verizon's CTO has confirmed for The Wall Street Journal that his company will be ready for an LTE handset by mid 2011 which is actually six months earlier than expected.

Some people are already saying that Verizon is getting ready for an Apple partnership that will see them offer a CDMA/LTE iPhone to their customers next year. But Verizon itself is keeping quiet on the whole matter.

Verizon Wireless Explains Us How Skype Works

Verizon Wireless Explains Us How Skype Works

Following Verizon's and Skype's joint announcement at MWC 2010 we've seen the later pull Skype for Windows Mobile and later remove Skype for Symbian phones from the Ovi Store. Sure Skype is still free on these two platforms but Verizon seems really interested in convincing as many people to buy Verizon smartphones in order to take advantage of free Skype calls.

You can check the cartoonish presentation right after the break in which Verizon Wireless tries to explain Skype to us like we already don't know what it's all about. Does Big Red think it can convert more people into customers just because what Skype can do for them?

Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink Gets April 20th Release Date

Microsoft Project Pink has been hot on everyone lips since we first heard about it last year, now some good news is finally out of the wood works and we can hold our heads high to the sky as the release date draws close. Project Pink phones are looking more like Micorsoft's own version of the Sidekick seeing as they are targeted at snuffy teenagers and look all lady like, and the fact Micorsoft bought Danger, the guys who came up with the first Sidekick back in the day.

Since Project Pink phones are messaging and teenager centric handsets, you most won't find Windows Phone Series 7 OS on them, I'm thinking a whole new, or Windows Mobile 6.5+ which seems more fitting in my eyes and would keep the price down at a bare minimum. Now let's get down to what really matters here, the first set of Project Pink handsets are set for an April 20th launch, and guess which Network is chosen to do the bidding? Big bad boys in red Verizon Wireless.
