Microsoft might not be launching a Zune phone just yet but its Zune HD player will pack a powerful Nvidia Tegra Chip. That means Zune HD is capable of running Windows Mobile 7 if Microsoft will want to cross that bridge when the time comes.

Windows Mobile 7 is official everyone! Steve Ballmer talked about Windows Mobile during a Strategic Update Meeting on Tuesday. It has been revealed that Windows Mobile is a core business of Microsoft. The company has 2,000 employees working on it and about a billion dollars invested every year in operating expenses. A Zune phone however is not going to be created yet.

This CES edition didn't bring anything interesting from Microsoft. In case you were expecting any Zune Phones or Windows Mobile updates then you're in bad luck. Microsoft has been working on other stuff instead and we can only wish that the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February might shed some light on the future of Windows Mobile.

With the recent Zune problems we were left wondering if a Zune Phone would have also failed us right when we would have needed it the most, on New Year's Eve. But CES 2009 is coming soon and we can start asking again that question which we have already been answered to. Is a Zune Phone coming at CES? We have no idea if this one is real or just another rumor but people are saying that the Zunephone is going to arrive at the next CES. We've heard Microsoft and Steve Ballmer saying how they're not considering a Zune phone for the future. That happened earlier this summer.
