iphone will be launched in India around Sep 2008, may be bit earlier but services will be available at Bangalore by this time. It will be priced around $400 , that is around 16000 in present valuation.

Let me make some corrections. iPhone has no built in MMS and instant messaging support, camera doesn't shoot video, no optional widgets yet (unless you choose to jailbreak it), no photo editor, no voice memo. Some of these features may be added by installing a third-party application on a jailbroken iPhone. Now corrections and answers to the comments: iPhone isn't gonna work in India/Phillipines for long time most likely, but you can jailbreak it, unlock it and use it just like any other phone (at your own risk). It's gonna cost around $400 plus shipping if you order it from the US. iPhone's Safari browser and email client can read *.doc files I'm not sure about Excel, some third-party apps allow you to view doc documents saved on your phone. You don't need to sign up with a carrier to buy a phone but its features won't be accessible until you sign up for AT&T services (it's not Verizon). As far as I know it's possible to activate it via hack. But then EDGE won't be accessible so it would become pretty much like an iPod unless you want to sign a contract with a different carrier. iPhone's battery is expensive but if you are on warranty (basic is 1 year long) your battery replacement should be free. By default iPhone can't record video. A jailbroken iPhone having a video recording app istalled can record 4 seconds long videos.

see first of all the apple iphone doesnt have the basic features and overall its not worth to buy for such an huge amount like 30k and the iphone has a very defective workship the panel will crack if you charge more than the specified hrs see charging sometimes more will usually occur so happens in all the phone but breaking of pannel is something unusual which is also dangerous if occurs during the usage. i recommend all not to go for iphone for 1 year or six months because they should look all this things thankyou
