I just bought this phone in early February and I love it. I do not have the capabilities to go online or use any features that require me to go online due to my plan but I must say, there is very little to complain about. Texting is very convenient. pTunes is a simple, and easy to understand application the Centro uses to play mp3's. It is amazingly easy to learn the many features of this phone. For $100 bucks, the Palm Centro is definitely worth it.

I got this phone in December and fell in love with it but was very annoyed that I couldn't connect them to bluetooth headphones. So last week I decided to get a blackberry pearl because of similar features plus a standard sized headphone jack and stereo bt. 2 days with that phone and I hated it! To make a phone call took me 5 minutes to figure out, The web browser was impossible to get "registered" and the same for email. The manual did #$@@. I just switched back to my centro with great appreciation the instant email, the touch screen feature, the full keyboard and everything else! Completely recommend.

The math is simple / bottom line, for a c-bill this phone does the trick, big time! As a phone calls are clear and very simple to manage. Schedules are a breeze with Palms tried and true calender appi. Communicating via text; SMS, MMS, IM, Email, and more, is a pleasure. The keyboard is indeed small, but I have big hands, I can lay my thumb on the keyboard and it literally covers half of it, but its unbelievably workable, so much so that I lost interest in thinking that the phones lacking handwriting recognition was a problem. The camera isnt all that, but it does seem to use lighting a lot better than most phones at this price level. Microsoft files are viewed and edited like a pro with a fully operational Documents To Go appi, not a watered down demo. And speaking of appi's that arent crippled to the point of being useless, the Centro comes with a full version of P Tunes! With the capability to slip in a 4gb microsd card, this thing becomes an Iphone Nano Killer. Here's the kicker... Its Palm OS, all the way baby, not some watered down wannabe Mac OS X thingy. What's this mean to you? It means that if you find something lacking, say for instance you suddenly get hit with the urge to go all retro, and you want to play your favorite Gameboy game again, but you cant find your Gameboy or better yet, you would rather not carry around 2 devices... Well your covered, and the possibilities just go on and on and on. People have been releasing applications for Palm OS for going a decade or more, the better part of them totally free, and those that have a price tag wont steal food off your plate or fuel from your tank. I had actually taken this phone as somewhat of a demo unit, because the store didnt have any of the phones that I really wanted to look at. Turns out that 3 days later I decided that for the money, this thing was "IT"!

I like the other reader was going to purchase the HTC Touch, but I wanted a full keyboard. So I decided to get the Centro. I must say I LOVE it. My only issue is that the battery kind of sucks. This thing is so cool, and it comes in my favorite color, pink. I is very easy to use and keeps my updated and organized. It is sooo small, but thats why I like it even more. The keyboard is a little intimidating, but you will get used to it. I used to hate texting, now I love it. I am a college student, and this phone comes in handy. And it's cheap, only $99. Overall I reccomend this phone.

Well I've had this phone for about 2months now and I must say I love of it! of course it dosent compare to my last phone (iPhone) but its great. Texting is my most favorite thing to do now a days w/the full size keyboard you can't go wrong.

Like the rest of the reviews, I LOVE THIS PHONE. The battery isn't great--but most phones this powerful aren't much better. Another annoying thing is that the built-in alarm app doesn't do recurrin/weekly alarms. Other than that, it's by far the best phone I've ever had. It is definitely better than an IPhone (it has way more available apps and does picture mail, sorry Apple). It is small, cheap, VERY easy to use, durable and totally adorable looking. I have recommended this phone to all my friends.

I too like the phone. If the builtin browser isn't to your liking: Opera has a mini-opera freebie that has different functionality. You need to download a (also free) Java JVM from IBM to take full advantage of Opera-Mini on a Palm. It's still not Safari on the iPhone but OK.

Great phone - I bought a refurb for $50 (ATT) and it appeared to be brand new. I had my doubts about the tiny keyboard, but it's been very easy to use. I don't have a data plan, so this serves me as a phone, a texter, an alarm clock (wake up to MP3s with a free add-on - TreoAlarm!) and an all-around planner. Now I carry this one device rather than a phone plus a Palm. Love it!

The sales girl said handwritting recognition was the only thing missing from the Centro, something to do with lack of space on the screen. I knew there had to be a way to add handwritting recognition, hell its the Palm OS, its what they do.. I downloaded software called MobileWrite which puts Graffiti (Palms recognition app.)was back on the Palm. If you like the Palm, you will love this phone. It does everything you can do on a Palm plus a phone for $49 (and a 2 year contract with ATT) I have read alot about how old looking the Palm interface is, and I guess if you compare it to a iPhone the icons look simple but you can update it to an "iPhone like" interface with UltimatePhone. This software changes the "skin" and makes a much more updated interface. I kind of like the retro feel of the Palm interface as well as the retro look of the Centro. The black plastic rounded form with a silver band and the one big shiny button seem like something out of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" It is a great phone.. I bought 2.. one for me, one for my wife

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago from sprint with the everything plan...it means everything~! This phone is awsome. I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to use the tiny keyboard..boy was I wrong they are like raised bubbles and my large fingers do just fine with them. The software is easy to understand even for first time palm users. (ME!). Some wish it had wi-fi but if it did it wouldn't do me any good, since I live in a very small michigan town that doesn't have wi-fi anywhere. I have the sprint internet service and that works very fast. The browser could use some improvement, but it is effecient. I have the red centro, I love the color and when it arrived I was amazed...it is the same exact color as my Pt cruiser and my bike....got lucky there.......LOL

I love this phone. I upgraded from a Palm Z22 so i would not have to carry two gadgets. This phone does it all. My only complaint is the desktop software is horrible. The desktop software for the Z22 was superior to even Outlook. This new version has no colrs or repat and third party applications like Splash Data icons do not appear on the side.

I love my Palm Centro! I have it in pink and it is by far my favorite phone I have ever had. It is my first SmartPhone/PDA and I will never go back to a regular phone. When you first get it, it takes time to get used to the full keyboard. Now, I am a texting machine with it and it is so much better than a flip phone. I am a texting addict as it is, and I hate T9, so I'm glad that I have the full keyboard to text with. I would totally get this phone. It is just amazing :]

i really like this phone NOW...lol when i first got it i was kinda disappointed (switched from a first gen bb pearl). i didn't like anything about the interface, 2 choices icon or list, nothing SEEMED readily accessible. i just felt kinda let down... then i did some research and found a bevy of programs and utilities like( iphoneimitation which changes the launcher in to as the name clearly states an imitation of the iphone )all you have to do is google, oh how i love google, and you can find a plethora of utilities, software, and applications which make this phone completely awesome. and on top of it all i got the phone for free with a 2 year contract with sprint from wirefly.com

honestly, since I've never had a smartphone before, I was a little shy with it at first. Then after a day or so, it was almost like I was a child at X-mas time. All of the freeware available along with the document viewing... just awesome!!!

I got this phone to replace my Treo 650. I had my eye on it for a while, but it wasn't until when AT&T Wireless had it on their side for $30 Refurbished that I finally decided to get it.

The palm-centro is a very neat phone, its pretty different from any other smart phone. im always texting on it, i dont like the fact that the keyboard is small simply because your fingers could get caught pressing another button, but other then that it is ver afordable. i completely agree with stefan

I got my Centro a month ago and I loved, is simple, powerful and versatil phone and computer. Great reception, include in places where Nokia's and Sony-ericcson's haven't signal. A lot of applications freeware, games, sounds, calculators, etc. It's a great phone, I reccomended you.

Overall this phone is a great phone. I have this phone for sprint , I intially was going to get the HTC touch but it is terrible for Txt messaging. The Palm Centro is very easy to use , learning curve is about 3 -4 hours. The internet for sprint is very fast and reliable, but it still lacks a good viewing browser,( needs one more like iphone). The key board is small but is effective and efficient. Does not have wi-fi (that blows), email is ok not to many prefrences you can change. Overall this phone is a great buy its 100 dollers (new service or contract renew) has many features and is not very big ( considerably smaller then treo). 4.2/5 (web browser does suck)
