If you fly with American Airlines this holiday season, you may not need to carry a printed boarding pass if you have an internet enabled phone. The airline, in partnership with the Transportation Security Administration, is offering mobile boarding passes in select US cities.

Want to test the Android platform but don't want the T-Mobile G-1? You will soon get your wish. Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei has recently announced plans to make Android and Symbian based smartphones to be released in the first half of 2009.

Fans of the T-Mobile G1 have something to shout about - the white G1 will be available after the thanksgiving holiday in the US. While there are a few white G1 phones floating around, they are not officially available to the general public just yet.

Qik, the mobile live video sharing software, is not just available for Windows Mobile.

Users of the Apple iPhone, RIM and Symbian phones may also download the program and instantly make and live-stream videos. This is good events with family, office and friends, wherever you and they maybe.

Qik currently supports at least 72 handsets from Nokia, Apple, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, Blackberry, HTC, Verizon and Sprint.

To start using Quik, just sign up at Qik.com and you will be prompted to provide your mobile number during the process. Qik.com will then send you a download link via SMS. As soon as you install the downloaded app, Qik will go online and Qik.com will detect it. You may then instantly start doing live video streams and invite others to watch it through your profile page at http://qik.com/USERNAME.

The good thing about this is that all live-streams are instantly recorded.

Privacy? You may manage your video streams at your profile page. You may make all your videos private and then change the settings for individual videos.

This app is good for bloggers, especially vloggers, and for everyone who wishes to make full use of their camera-equipped phones.

Don't forget that data subscription is required. GPRS, EDGE, 3G, EVDO, HSDPA or WIFI to enable you to do live-streaming.
