T-Mobile Starts Sidekick Sales Again

T-Mobile Starts Sidekick Sales Again

It looks like T-Mobile is ready to put the past behind and start selling new Sidekicks again. We were expecting this to happen at some point but will T-Mobile customers trust a Sidekick again?

Just a while ago T-Mobile lost all that personal data up there in the cloud and for a period of time everyone thought that data was lost forever. But T-Mobile working with Microsoft and Danger managed to solve almost everything when nobody was expecting a fix anymore.

Motorola Droid Sales Are Going Up

Motorola Droid Sales Are Going Up

Although still incomparable to the iPhone when it comes to first week sales, Motorola's second Android phone, the Droid , is doing quite well apparently. Verizon sold about 100,000 units in the opening weekend and it looks like Big Red has sold anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 in the first week.

Neither Motorola nor Verizon have confirmed the number so far but it seems that location network developer uLocate, the makers of WHERE, has 25,000 active accounts on Droid smartphones. uLocate seems to be installed on about 10% of launch units and that's how the numbers have been calculated so far.

LG to Launch New Watchphone Next Year?

LG to Launch New Watchphone Next Year?

I wonder how many watchphones has LG sold so far? It must have sold quite a few of them in order to decide to launch a new version next year. In fact LG has made it pretty official that it intends to have more versions of its watchphone next year.

The GD910 is LG's current watchphone and although it's a remarkable gadget, I wouldn't purchase it myself. I'm more interested in actual smartphones that come with a decent touchscreen myself so a watchphone will not fit the profile. Furthermore the price the GD910 comes with is definitely not something anyone would end up paying for a phone but LG is still going to bring on a few more models in the near future.

Nokia to Purchase Palm?

Nokia to Purchase Palm?

Here's an interesting rumor, folks! It looks like Nokia is interested in purchasing Palm could be a really smart move. It's not the first time we hear that Nokia is interested in Palm but the rumor has now resurfaced.

I can't say I'm not curios to see what Nokia would do with Palm once it would own it. Would it still keep it as a brand? Would it still use its webOS? Will Nokia use webOS in order to develop its future Symbian and/or Maemo mobile OS?

Vodafone to Sell the Nokia E72 Exclusively?

Vodafone to Sell the Nokia E72 Exclusively?

The Nokia E72 is a slightly better version of the Nokia E71 . And we certainly can appreciate the E71 as one of the best phones Nokia has launched in the last couple of years. Not only does it look good but it can also be a very dependable handset. Naturally the E72 will be at least as good as the E71.

The phone will be available in the UK from Vodafone exclusively this year and you'll be able to grab it for free on new 2-year contracts of at least £30 per month.

Apple Brings in the Most Profit in Q3 2009

Apple Brings in the Most Profit in Q3 2009

Although Nokia is still the number one cell phone manufacturer out there the company isn't the most profitable in the world anymore. At least not according to Q3 2009 financial results. Nokia, and everyone else, has been surpassed by Apple when it comes to profits.

Apple might not be a traditional player in the mobile business but its Apple became very popular in the last couple of years. Apple has sold more and more phones all over the world and those sales are now a big part of Apple's quarterly profit. Last quarter Apple pulled in $1.6 billion in profits after selling 7.4 million iPhones for a total of $4.5 billion in sales.
