Mar 06 Button Plus 2.2 extends the hardware buttons functionality
Published by root in:Software, Pocket PC, Button Plus 2.2 extends the hardware buttons functionality

Try Button Plus 2.2 if you like to map more than 1 function to each hardware button.Button Plus 2.2 now supports Windows Mobile 5.0 and also more devices and OS than version 1.0.1. This program allows you to map up to 4 different functions or porgrams to each hardware button. A task manager with system information display is also included in this software.

Extends functionality of hardware keys on Windows Mobile devices. It allows you to:
* Intercept almost any standard button:
application buttons,
WM5 SoftKeys,
Volume slider and even Red/Green phone buttons

* Distinguish up to 4 different keypress events on each button grabbed (single, double, triple and "long" keypresses)
* Remap each of the keypress events to "virtual" application button or assign them directly to one of the built-in actions. Current set of built-in actions includes running applications with optional command line parameters, hardware buttons emulation, closing/switching current apps and even BUILT IN TASK MANAGER As a result you may "convert" volume slider to up/down arrows, assign several essential application buttons to these "SoftKey" buttons and even assign your favorit alternative dialer to red/green phone buttons.

It may be used on the following mobile devices:
* Windows Mobile 2003 PocketPC and PocketPC Phone Edition
* Windows Mobile 2003SE PocketPC and PocketPC Phone Edition
* Windows Mobile 2005 PocketPC and PocketPC Phone Edition
* Windows Mobile 2003SE Smartphone (*)
* Windows Mobile 2005 Smartphone (*)

(*) I don't think this utility is useful on Smartphone (see "Known Issues" below).

Anyway be sure to backup your Smartphone before installing Button Plus 2.2. PocketPC users are safe because of touchscreen.

Button Plus 2.2 has a trial download and if you like it you can buy the full application for only $7.99 !

Mar 05 Digital camera with built in GPS from Ricoh
Published by Vesselin Nerdeff in:Mobile News, GPS, Devices, Digital camera with built in GPS from Ricoh

Ricoh came with the idea for a digital camera which provides GPS solutions. Ricoh have contracted a cooperation with GlobalSat, a company that GPS makes products. Ricoh have devised a digital camera which can provide GPS functionality with GPS module with GlobalSat.

This module, originating from GlobalSat, can be clicked in the camera. Unfortunately is it not the intention that you with this combination will navigate. Ricoh think that consumers have need to information on a location when taking the photograph. The things they offer to attach to your photo are name of the country, place, street name, etc.

The GPS have SiRF Star III chipset. For consumers a rather useless application according to our, but possibly that businesses have still something. You can find more information at Internet site of Ricoh here

Mar 05 Mobile bookmarks on your PDA with Mobilicio.us
Published by Vesselin Nerdeff in:Mobile News, Mobile bookmarks on your PDA with Mobilicio.us

Mobilicio.us is a mashup of Google Mobile and del.icio.us and it's designed to "mobilize" your bookmarks. In other words, make it easier to view and search your URL's because viewing on a tiny screen, and typing on a tiny keyboard isn't so easy.

You just need to type in the Mobilicio.us URL, then sign in with your del.icio.us account. At this stage you can see access your bookmarks, but what you really want are bookmarks tagged with mtag.

These are the special links for mobile browsing. The point of them is to go through your bookmarks and add this tag. When you sign in to Mobilicio.us, the mtag links will appear first, thus speeding up your surfing. Mobilicio.us promises further expansion into other social bookmarking sites like furl and spurl, which is nice.

Mobilicio.us would not be possible without the incredibly efficient (and generous) del.icio.us API. On top of the del.icio.us API, Mobilicio.us uses a version of mySQLicious which has been modified to support caching del.icio.us bookmarks for multiple accounts. Links displayed through Mobilicio.us are altered to use Google Mobile to "mobilize" the site.

Mar 05 Pocket SharpMT 3.2.1 released
Published by Vesselin Nerdeff in:Software, Pocket PC, Pocket SharpMT 3.2.1 released

SharpMT is an offline Blog writer that is designed for MovableType based systems. It builds on the foundation of the first versions of SharpMT and adds new features that include proxy server support, custom tag integration, better support for Blog Links, an updated user interface, and built in spell checking.

Pocket SharpMT continues to build on the foundation of earlier versions of SharpMT and Pocket SharpMT. This latest release offers better proxy support, more advanced rendering for portrait, landscape, and square devices and streamlining for the 2.0 .NET Compact Framework.

A new version for the application that wasn't supposed to get a new version! Not a total re-write, but I've looked at almost all parts of the application for possible improvements, retiring obsolete functions where I could, and adapting the bits to use the 2.0 version of the .NET Compact Framework. Resizing should work on all devices, connections should work better and more reliably, and I've cleaned up some of the UI that has irked me after looking at it. the developer said.

You can download Pocket SharpMT 3.2.1 from here
