Leaked documents have confirmed what we already know; the HTC Droid Eris is indeed coming on November 6 and it will be available for $99. Verizon will launch the cheapest Android phone in the U.S. and you’ll be able to get it next Friday.
The leaked documents confirm that the HTC Droid Eris is going to offer you a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 320 x 480 screen, 8GB microSD card and Android 1.5 in the background.
In other words the Droid Eris is another version of the Hero which is pretty bad news for Sprint. The carrier is selling the Hero
for $179.99 and it won’t be happy to see Big Red offering a similar phone for almost half the price.

Motorola seems to be on a roll right now. Although its Droid hasn’t confirmed yet, but it probably will, Motorola seems to have planned more than 20 phones for next year.
How many of those 20+ phones are going to be Android phones and how many are going to be Windows Mobile phones? There’s no answer for this question yet. Although Motorola’s CEO Sanjay Jha has confirmed the number, he didn’t mention more details regarding those future smartphones.
We do know that Motorola isn’t interested in Windows Mobile 6.5 and since Windows Mobile 7 is expected in the second half of 2010 we can assume that most future Moto handsets will run Google’s OS.

Sony Ericsson is probably looking with envy at Motorola’s Droid smartphone. Verizon Wireless is going to sell the Droid while no other U.S. carrier has announced its intention of getting the Xperia X3. Also known as Rachael, the phone should become official on November 3 and it’s going to be the first Android phone coming from Sony Ericsson.

We finally have a Windows Mobile
phone in the news. Sure the Omnia II is a handset we have been expecting for a while now but I’m still glad to see a phone capable of running Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 for a change.

Sony Ericsson has a hot phone, the Aino, but it looks like all the carriers in the USA are busy with other handsets lately. And since nobody seems interested in offering the Aino for a subsidized price, SonyStyle is ready to sell the phone for $599.99. That seems like a lot but that’s the unlocked version of the Aino.
