The Acer n311 is based on Samsung S3C2440 processor which runs at 400 MHz. Acer n311 features 64 MB RAM and it offers 128 MB ROM. It features also Bluetooth 1.2 and has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b connectivity.

Acer n311 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and has SDIO capable SD/MMC card expansion slots, as well as USB 1.0 with Host support for transferring data from compatible devices such as portable hard drives or digital cameras.

This Acer's PDA features the full line-up of software available from Microsoft for the platform, including the newly overhauled Office Mobile suite comprised of Excel, PowerPoint and Word Mobile plus Outlook 2002 for your PC. Also present is Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. Acer has also chosen to bundle Pocket TV Enterprise Edition, an application for playing back MPEG1 encoded video content.

Gil Milow, who develops for Windows Mobile, has just made available his latest application, which purpose is to sync your Pocket PC's Pocket Outlook and Google Calendar. It is called ActiveGcSync and supports two-way sychronization and auto-updating in the background.

ActiveGcSync which syncs Pocket Outlook and Google Calendar is available for free download at Freeware Pocket PC site.

By using the software on your desktop, ActivePrint gives you the ability to print many standard document types like Pocket Word or Pocket Excel. But while many other Pocket PC printing solutions stop there, ActivePrint breaks through with as many as 60 compatible document types. ActiveSync 4.2 Beta Preview is an early look at the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile devices.

Microsoft ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. ActiveSync acts as the gateway between your Windows powered PC and Windows Mobile powered device, enabling the transfer of Outlook information, Office documents, pictures, music, videos and applications from your desktop to your device. In addition to synchronizing with a desktop PC, ActiveSync can synchronize directly with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so that you can keep your e-mail, Calendar, Notes, and Contacts updated wirelessly when you’re away from your PC.

ActiveSync 4.2 Public Beta fixes a number of issues you may be experiencing with 4.1. and it is strongly recommended that you don't install this unless you have a Windows Mobile 5 device. Overall, ActiveSync 4.x is geared towards WM5. While it supports WM2003 devices, it doesn't do anything for them that is new, and disables your ability to sync via a network connection, like WiFi.
