Microsoft Makes Bing More Mobile Friendly

Microsoft Makes Bing More Mobile Friendly

In case you forgot Microsoft has its own search engine. Bing has been available for quite a while now so if you're interested in a different search experience then you could ignore Google for a while and switch to Bing.

And Microsoft has decided to make Bing even more mobile friendly. That's an important move considering that more and more people are choosing smartphones instead of simple phones. The smartphones are used more and more for going online so mobile searches have become a daily habit.

The changes include finger-friendly buttons and even a movie finger which will let users browse for movies that are available in a cinema near them. Just go to m.bing.com from your smartphone in order to see Bing in action.

Telus to Launch GSM HTC Hero

Telus to Launch GSM HTC Hero

If you live in Canada and would love a new Android phone then we have an alternative for you. The HTC Hero, one of the best Android phones available to date, will be available in a Telus store near you soon. What's even better about it is that it comes in GSM flavor which means it will work no matter where you take it with you.

The GSM HTC Hero will be very similar in specs to the CDMA version. You can expect a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi b/g and HSDPA support. There's no telling if Telus' Hero will come with Android 1.5 or Android 2.0 from the beginning. But HTC did confirm the fact that the Hero will receive the Android 2.0 update so Telus users should expect to see a similar treatment. We have no release dates and pricing details at this point but we'll be back with more once Telus makes the Hero official.

In other words the Droid Eris is another version of the Hero which is pretty bad news for Sprint. The carrier is selling the Hero for $179.99 and it won't be happy to see Big Red offering a similar phone for almost half the price.

Motorola Plans to Launch 20 Smartphones Next Year

Motorola Plans to Launch 20 Smartphones Next Year

Motorola seems to be on a roll right now. Although its Droid hasn't confirmed yet, but it probably will, Motorola seems to have planned more than 20 phones for next year.

How many of those 20+ phones are going to be Android phones and how many are going to be Windows Mobile phones? There's no answer for this question yet. Although Motorola's CEO Sanjay Jha has confirmed the number, he didn't mention more details regarding those future smartphones.

We do know that Motorola isn't interested in Windows Mobile 6.5 and since Windows Mobile 7 is expected in the second half of 2010 we can assume that most future Moto handsets will run Google's OS.
