Finger friendly keyboard with 2 different interfaces, one for fast one finger clicking and with big buttons which should be tapped 2 times for example to get the second letter of the button. Something similar to typing with your regular cell phone with numbers keypad.
The second interface is with all the letters in separate key buttons.
To activate and configure the Touch keyboard tap on your Start button and then go to Settings/Personal/Input and select "Touch keyboard" from the drop down menu !
The keyboard is available in five different languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish !
The XT9 dictionary tool will help you type the correct word always and it could also suggest you the nest word which could save you some extra typing. Spell Correction, Next Word Prediction, Auto Append, Auto Substitution, Word Completion, Multitap Word Completion are supported.

Tried installing this on the Cingular 8525. I can bring up the touchpad version of the keyboard but no matter what settings I use I cannot access the normal keyboard configuration as shown above.
darki wrote...
installed it but cant use the "second interface" (normal keyboard) while typing a sms or an email. there are only keypads with 2 and with 3 letters per key
Phil wrote...
Yes, as above........buggy rubbish. Normal keyboard cannot be selected. Dont waste your time.
obiwan wrote...
works on my Herald WM6, but the other inputmethodes, like transcriber etc. dont work no more. and the space that this Software use is often to much so you can't see what you write.

i don't know how to switch to the normal qwerty keyboard style..?? anyone know how??
MAX621 wrote...
Its really great.... for full keyboard ... just switch off ONE TOUCH KEY ENTRY
halrulez wrote...
do not get this program if you have a ppc-6700 with the wm6 upgrade. the program does not work what so ever and when you try to uninstall it it doesnt uninstall even if it says it does even after a soft reset. had to do a hard reset to get it out of my phone. it embeds it self in windows. also screws up your typeing and you cant turn of any of it features like word comletion or word finish. waist of time. dont bother if you have a keyboard yall.

An excellent addition. I have been looking high and low for this type of keypad. Well done!!

Forget this keyboard, its just a rip of the one that HTC made for the touch. Check out this one instead, I think its much better and its free til Dec. 8 2007. http://www.cootek.com/

The keyboard will switch by itself between the 2 interfaces. The 2nd interface will show itself when you are in a text content i.e. any place where you can type in text.Otherwise, it will show the 1st interface. For example, you open internet explorer. Go to google. If your cursor is in the search text box or in the url address space, the keyboard will show the 2nd interface. Now, use your stylus and click on any one of the radio buttons (Web, Images or Mobile Web), the keyboard will show the 1st interface.
CF Chong wrote...
Sorry...I think I have got the 2 interfaces mixed up. Anyway, the keyboard will switched between the 2 interfaces automatically based on where the cursor is. Hope this helps.
CF Chong wrote...
I prefer this keyboard over TouchPal (http://www.cootek.com/) is because the letters/words are input straight onto the input text area.
CF Chong wrote...
Casey, you need to have the IMSelector program to change this keyboard to the default. It may or may not work depending on your device. Devices with 128MB RAM will most probably not have a problem.
Eric wrote...
Anyone know how to remove this keyboard from a HTC touch? Don'like it at all
Joeh wrote...
How on earth do you get rid of the auto complete!?!?!? I cant type w/ the mogul's keyboard!
CF Chong wrote...
Eric, doesn't this keyboard comes with your HTC Touch? Is it is native to HTC Touch, then you cannot remove it as it is in the ROM. You can just leave it as an option and select some other keyboard as the default.
CF Chong wrote...
Joeh, I am using an HTC TyTn II which is a variant of the mogul...whenever i start to use the physical keyboard, the touch keyboard will automatically disappear from the screen...doesn't it do that for you?
VCCA wrote...
I tried this on my touch and even with the one touch key entry checked i can not get a single key keyboard when sending an sms. Any ideas?
Uesnyc wrote...
Cooltek sucks, this one sucks, I use pocketcm for short messages and FSK for longer ones. No problems whatsoever. I tried this and dumpped it within 20 minutes, even quicker for cooltek. There are a few MUCH better options for text entry programs. I'm just dissapointed that HTC decided that this is the direction they wanted to head in.

This looks as though it will change my opinion of the HTC Touch, but I can't get it to work. Tried all of the steps but I get nothing. Has anyone got this to work with the HTC touch for Bell Mobility (CAN) ? Is there going to be a v2.0 that solves the problem.
Cecil Bain wrote...
I forgot to mention that it's the second interface that doesn't work on the TOUCH (full keyboard). The other one works fine, it actual comes as a default on the device.

Installed on a ATT 8525 with WM6 upgrade and works ok. To get the full keyboard to display I unchecked the box for Turn on one-touch symbol entry, then I had to soft-reset. Then set input to Touch Keyboard and the full qwerty keyboard is displayed.
Matt wrote...
Guys, Its really simple. I have a Verizon Xv6700 upgraded to WM6 and this works perfect....FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE COMPLAING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO TYPE ON THE REGULAR KEYBOARD, YOU HAVE OPTIONS YOU KNOW, YOU CAN SWITCH OFF THE ONE TOUCH ENTRY. Anyway who would want it off, the one touch recognizes what you want to type and auto completes it. Yes PCM keyboard is nice but is still small and you can still make mistakes. The predictive index on the HTC keyboard has not made a mistake in 3 months for me. AWESOME!!!A+A+A+

Matt. I have tried both turning one touch on and off, and I do not have an option to use the standard qwerty keyboard. It defaults to the blackberry style regardless which i have selected. I have the htc touch from sprint which actually came with this keyboard installed already. Is there something I'm missing here? Thanks!
Eitel wrote...
I agree with netta, I must be missing something as well.........

Dan Harvey wrote...
I believe if you guys would buy a Touch(Elf-GSM or Vogue-CDMA), you would understand this keyboard better. All three keyboards are present and accessible. The 20 button keyboard with 2 letters per key is the "Touch Keyboard". The 12 button keyboard with 3 letters per key is the "Touch Keypad". The full QWERTY keyboard you all claim is not accessible is only available when not in an input field or entering a password. As a Sprint Touch owner I can tell you this keyboard installed on my PPC-6700 works the same as my Sprint Touch. It is not "Buggy Rubbish" just because you do not know how it is supposed to work. The keyboard is designed to use XT9 by default. XT9 was developed with text messaging in mind. It is a 20 key partial QWERTY that still uses the basic principles of T9 and makes for very easy text messaging.

I had that problem where you can't turn off the one touch. I'd removed the program, soft reset, but it still didn't remove. Try this...it's just worked for me. Reinstall the cab to the same location, then remove it again. The second time my device restarted itself which it didn't do the first time and it seems to have worked.

Version 1.0 is flawed! It does not allow you to use the sliding hardware keyboard of TyTN ii. The updated version can be found here - http://www.cellularsolutions.ca/downloads/index.php?path=Cabs/ under the name HTC_Touch_Keyboard.cab I don't know why www.freewarepocketpc.net/ does not offer the updated version.... Enjoy it!

TO UNINSTALL - Assuming that you have installed the application on a windows mobile device, It may be removed by using your mobiles built in Remove Programs feature. This should be located at: (Start/Settings/System Tab/Remove Programs. The program may also leave behind traces which can be found by connecting your computer to the device and manually searching for components it is recommended that you remove the program before deleting manualy.

Got it to work with my Mogul. I don\'t like how it automatically goes to the 2nd interface when I want type a text, yet when I am not in an application requiring text I can see the full keyboard. This defies the full keyboard option. For those who are having trouble finding the edit features of the this application, go to Start, Settings then Input. The input method should say \"touch keyboard\" and it will have the \"options\" button on the bottom. You can edit from there.

How to disable XT9?

I was so excited because this keyboard rocks with my AT&T Tilt just the same with the CDMA version of Sprint HTC Touch. However I\'m disappointed because the XT9 interferes with my actual QWERTY keyboard. Someone knows how to disable XT9.

WHY DON\'T THEY SEPARATE THESE TWO KEYBOARDS??? THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT LET YOU PICK THE SECOND INTERFACE IN SMS MESSAGING. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!

doesn\'t work on htc touch hd, screen resolution to big, just shows small keypad and distorted screen.

this is kind of ridiculous. The second one does not work on my htc mogul, PLUS when i try to use the regular keyboard, the program tries to suggest these stupid symbols and wont let me type.

I agree with everyone else that it's pointless to have two different keyboards and not be able to choose between them,I personal prefer the one touch keyboard, however the other is all it will allow me to use
Martin wrote...
yeah that\'s the problem! no ideas how to change?

how do i switch to the second interface i have the file but i cant switch interfaces. what do i do.
PAUL wrote...
The second interface only works when you are putting in passwords or other key information. The HTC tough comes with it but its not all the glam. The XT9 is what makes that one keyboard work to its point. People ofter use the transcriber.
Angel wrote...
If you are one of those people that has a hard time writing messages with your touch phone DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM! You will NO LONGER need that annoying stylus, for typing, that is. This is an amazing piece of software... I love it more than my slide out keyboard! I actually sold my HTC Touch(fully touch phone) and got an HTC Mogul(the one with a slide out keyboard) because I couldn\'t text without pressing 2 or 3 keys at once without a stylus. I wish I had found this program sooner! I had no problems with either interface and I love it! It\'s a must!

Another slick-looking program that doesn't seem to work with a Cingular 8125. Downloaded it, selected it on the keyboard options where it does appear, but the same default keyboard still pops up.
