YouTube Player is YouTube search/player application which featuring full FLV. Bit like the latest CorePlayer.
It allows you to search for videos in a nice friendly Windows Mobile app and then plays the full FLV video (not miniscule MPEG4 versions) with its own player.
The app is written in a mixture of .net and C so you need the .net runtime, v2.
The video player overlay is hacked out of TCPMP and the FLV part is based on FFMPEG.
Things planned: Support for YouTube logons, video uploads, user favorites and better caching/buffering.
Things not planned: Other video sites.

Known issues:
- Square mode not quite right.
- Other character sets (Chinese etc.) don't work apparently.
- Close button sometimes takes a few pushes.
Everybody should note that this application will eat bandwidth, no consideration has been made for data consumed, so Wifi/ActiveSync or unlimited 3g only, be prepared for a big data bill otherwise. Won't work well on GPRS anyway as FLV vids are quite sizeable.

v1.0.0.11 (24-11-2008):
- New: Fully works on Pocket PC 2003 now, found the horrid bug that stopped it.
- New: Will open and play VP6 (On2) FLV files, slow but should work.
- New: Uses newer version of FFMPEG SVN from a few days ago.
- Fix: Fullscreen should work if you start in landscape mode now.
v1.0.0.10 (11-11-2008):
- New: Added the facility to extract the audio as an MP3 from any saved FLV.
- Fix: HTC Streaming Media option should now work again.
- NOTE: I have now removed any efforts at getting this to work on devices with less than WM5, just wouldn't work.

Fix - "Failed to get security cookie" message, this was caused by YouTube changes. I have now entirely changed the way this bit works so that it is more like the flash player and should be a bit more resiliant to changes. Fix - May work on Pocket PC 2003 devices again, please test.

Fix - -3 play error, which was caused by internal YouTube changes and some bad code!

Wow AMAZING...very good compared to TCMP. It would be nicer if it buffered first but on my touch with 1 bar of coverage it worked 10 times better than TCMP with 6 bars of EVDO

Works ok. If you know a thing or 2 then search out TCPMP & the flash pack & start streaming or saving the videos from the pc youtube site, direct 2 your device! (Mine's an O2 stellar)

This program is way better than tcpmp as it doesn't always have to stop and buffer thereby ruining the experience. Also when using tcpmp you can't always show all the booty shaking videos.

Very Nice... could be finger friendly and play videos in full screen. But way faster than vtap and, unlike the other programs i tried, the videos play at the right moment when the words are being said.... thank you so much... I'm so getting rid of my tcmp, real player, and vtap... what a waste of memory.....

This program does require internet access. Unlimited internet is recommended due to its large consumption of bandwidth. Using wi-fi costs no money.At first galnce, the program looked wonderful. It is way better in quality and at the playing speed. After a while of using it, it got 'choppy' for some reason unknown to me. It began to get on my nerves. This caused me to uninstall it. I tried it on the HTC Mogul by Sprint. I really hope for the upcoming version to be a bit better for all of us Youtube fans. Keep up the great work 'YoutubePlay'creator(s).

Great program with good customization. I like that you can download videos, download just the mp3 used in the video, and use the program to watch .flv files (Something I seem to have an abundance of..) Great for youtubers, but for some constructive feedback, maybe work on adding in a way we can rate, comment, and view a very watered down version of a channel? Just some thoughts. 4/5, nothing\'s perfect and this could use some work, but great job.

Very good helpful tool! I didn't realize my PDA could be a nice video-on-demand player until I found this app! A small suggestion: If the search allows to extend the returning results by a "next page" button or link, in addition to just allowing a fix max number of returning results, then I won't have to miss anything from my search phrases. Downloaded to my HP iPAQ 910c and installed with no problems. Now I can finally play youtube vids on my WM6.1 Pro PPC! w00t!!! Ran into known issue of having to hit close button 2x or 3x to go back to search results. Also noted that hitting play after the vid is over doesn\'t replay it. Neither can you drag the progress slider back to the beginning to play again. But still, yay! Finally some youtube vid on my winmo device.

Almost perfect! My only complaint is that there needs to be more fast forward speeds. I believe the default 2x is just too slow.
