We have more news about HTC and its phones. The Touch HD, one of the last phones to be announced, is rumored to arrive in the USA from T-Mobile as the G2. That's rather strange considering that HTC has officially announced that the G2 will not go to the USA yet as carriers aren't interested in picking it up.
On the other hand T-Mobile has just finished pre-selling a second batch of G1 phones and the grand total so far is 1.5 million. The G1 is a hit phone already and it's logical to assume that both HTC and T-Mobile want a backup Android phone.
We have no idea if any of this will actually come true. It might be just one of those rumors that we'd want to believe but it never gets confirmed. Stay tuned for more information about the future of the Touch HD!

UMA capable I hope… The G1 is not & that’s the ONLY reason I haven’t & will not order one (not to mention it’s just about the ugliest phone I’ve seen in the last 5 years). On a side note HTC makes some great looking phones how did HTC get talked into producing such an awful design?

I hope this is true, because if T-Mobile gets it so will Sprint (hopefully).
